Women's Hairstyle Trends for Spring and Summer This 2008

Women's Hairstyle Trends for Spring and Summer This 2008
celebrity hairstyle trends imageIf you're ready for a Spring makeover in 2008, be prepared for some celebrity-inspired styles and unique updos to tame those tresses. Fashion Week put the spotlight on the some great looks for the season, with super-long lengths and pixie-style bobs leading the runway. No matter how long or short your hair may be after winter, you can look forward to layers, razor cut bobs, and blunt bangs to freshen up for the season. Here are the top women's hairstyle trends for Spring 2008:

Long and Curly
If you've been considering a perm these past few seasons, Spring 2008 is to jump in and go for it. Supermodels at the Calvin Klein presentation sported some curly ringlets in golden blonde and brunette colors. Medium-sized, tight curls are one of the leading looks of the season, and the extra-long length makes it super versatile.

Blunt Bangs
Blunt bangs are especially flattering for round and square face shapes, and can help balance out high cheekbones. Go for blunt bangs cut just over the eyebrow level for a modern, sophisticated look. These can easily be swept to the side if you decide to change up the style at a moment's notice.

Sculpted Bob
The bob continues to be a top trend this season, but the year calls for a soft and romantic version instead of the super-blunt cuts of Fall 2007. Soften up the look with large curlers or a curling iron, and go for a side part that covers the forehead.

Twisted Updos
The season's updo trends center around super-sculpted buns and twists; go for a sophisticated French twist by piling hair high up on the head and creating a 'knot'. The look was carried off perfectly by Gwen Stefani for the L.A.M.B. presentation at Fashion Week, and it's a great choice for warmer days.

Half Ponytails
Go for a teased side ponytail for a sophisticated and romantic look for Spring. It's the season for romance and the ponytail continues to be a super-feminine option for medium and longer lengths. Make it sleek and sophisticated with a flat iron, or where it loose with a natural wave.

Razor Cut Bob
The razor cut bob is the opposite of the sculpted version, and continues to be a top trend this year, except in a longer length. Instead of ending at the chin, the longest layer can now drop to the shoulders. Extreme side parts and zig-zag effects are great ways to pull of this look.

Finish off updos or dress up a simple bob with a few glittery hair picks and beaded accessories for a romantic touch; Spring 2008 trends are flirty, playful, and youthful. Are you ready for your spring hair makeover?
