How to Choosing your Straighteners

The Sedu straighteners come in two widths, 1 inch and 1.5 inch. For everyday straightening, the wider ones are recommended for hair longer than shoulder length, while the narrower ones are for shorter hair.

However, if you want to use them for curling, the narrower ones might also be a good investment as they will help to create smaller curls. It doesn't sound like a lot, but the half inch difference matters! Wider plates can be used more effectively for making waves.
Both types of Sedu straightener will suit any hair type - coloured, thick or fine, though the thicker width ones are recommended for particularly thick or coarse hair. The way to use them for a specific hair type is to pay special attention to the heat settings.

For fragile, damaged and thin/fine hair, the lowest heat setting is advised. The middle settings are recommended for ordinary hair in everyday styling and the highest settings only for healthy thick, coarse or ethnic hair.

The heat ranges from 120°C to 200°C, so even at the lowest setting that is above boiling point! For this reason, it is very important to only use the Sedu straighteners on dry hair. Using while the hair is wet, or even damp, can cause scorch damage.

They should also be used on clean hair containing only the styling products required or recommended for use. Using them on hair full of days-old products and finishing products such as hairspray can cause the plates to become dirty and ineffective, as well as pulling at the hair and quite possibly making a mess when it is heated.

The Emo hair styles

I love emo hair.
emo hair
Typical Emo haircuts are characterized by asymmetrical lines, bold highlights, usually red or white and a jet black hair. An emo girl or an emo boy dye their hair jet black and the bolder the effect the better. You don’t have to worry about the dye looking unnatural and can even shade the edges with frosted highlights, blue, orange, or purple. Emos usually wants to be alone and their haircuts are simply an extension of this belief. An Emo hairstyle is a one of a kind experiment. Its not the type that you can get at an ordinary salon. If you want an emo hairstyle, better bring a picture of Pete Wentz and tell the barber this is the style you want.

It is perfectly acceptable to create your own Emo hair just with a pair of scissors, razor and dye. Emo hairstyles has no set technique. It maybe described as more of a personal art-form, a style of expressing yourself, of one’s deepest emotions. In other words, any style can pass off as an Emo hair styles as long as it looks different and doesn’t look like one of those “dos” that you might wear to a prom. Being an Emo is all about being true to yourself, being unique and comfortable with one’s self. An Emo hairstyle is also all about the distinct personality of an individual and self-expression. If you feel that you are not one to follow the flock either, then you might just want to consider picking up any pair of scissors and doing up your hair the Emo way!

The scene hairstyles are beautiful? Do you love these scene hair?
Don't trust your hairdresser? Or just want to create what's on your head simply your way? Whatever the reason, there is one solution: Cutting your own Hair! Scary? No, if you know how to start, and prepare all the ingredients.
Things you'll need:
good quality sharp and light scissors
razor
large wall mirror
another one smaller to see the back of your head
protective towel to cover your arms

First, get some good quality scissors, sharp, light and sitting comfy in your hands - you don't need to buy professional pair, try to find one in the kitchen / writing desk. You'll also need some protective towel on your arms - to cover your clothing from the hair falling down while cutting. Now, the most crucial part - locate the wall mirror (ideally in the bathroom). Stand in front of it, and try to install small mirror somewhere behind you - on the window seal / cupboard, to see the reflection of back of your head, when standing in the front of wall mirror. Now, you are ready for action, baby!

So you get the idea how you want your hair to look like - that's great.

  1. Start cutting from the bottom layers going gradually to top layers - it's much easier that way. You can clip your hair together on the top of your head, to help you reach bottom layers first. Bottom layer can be as long as you wish, think as long as Audrey, or short as Katie Babyfayce.

  2. Wash your hair, or spray it with water, if you prefer to cut your hair wet - that way it's easier to get more consistent look. Also remember to cut your damp hair 1 - 2 cm longer, as it will wave in natural way and become slightly shorter when dry.

  3. Grab thin strand, hold it horizontally and cut at desired length. If you're happy with it, grab another one together with first one and cut at the same length. Repeat until you cut all the bottom layer.

  4. Release another layer from the upper hair - about 1 cm wide - and let it down on your neck - now cut it the same way as the bottom layer. You can cut every layer slightly shorter then the previous one from the bottom.

  5. Keep checking in back mirror, if you are still happy with the look and the length.

  6. After cutting all bottom layers, it's time to get to top layers - crowning of all your work - it's the most importand part, giving you loads of possibilities for creating your own look!

  7. If you're after Scene Hair, top layers will be short and chopped with messy look. Ideal length is to your chin, with shorter fringe.

  8. Grab single hair strand, hold it horizontally and cut with your razor - that way you'll get ideal choppy look, which can easily be styled, teased etc. Put your razor in a mid way to your desired length, and cut it delicately down along your hair. Don't cut your hair at once with a razor - they need to be layered - thick from the top and thinner at the ends. Repeat that with all top part of your hair.

  9. Now the fringe - part your hair in favourite way, and start layering with the razor. If you want your fringe to sit comfortably on the side of your face, create the length to your cheekbones. Layer it gradually with a razor.

  10. Fringe is very important in Scene Hair, it needs to be created from few layers, optionally with different shades and lengths - check the pictures of Audrey, Katie and other Scene Queens to know exactly what you're after.
When finished, go through your hair again, mess it with your fingers, and correct all the naughty streaks with scissors / razor. Check with the small mirror from all sides if you are happy with the look. Now shake off all your hair over the bath to get rid of all excessive hair, and dry it with a hairdryer.

Poisonthehat, aka Electrocuute who is really a hot emo guy!

Poisonthehat, aka Electrocuute emo hair
Probably, most of you emo guys would like to have this look. Here is the instruction and the tools you need to achieve this emo hairstyle according to Poisonthehat himself.

In his own words:

"Well, there are a couple of different "emo hair styles" I guess you could say. If you're looking for something like the picture above, then I can pretty much tell you everything I do to my hair, because that's me. I can still help you with whatever you're looking for though, since I've been through a couple of different "emo hair styles". I didn't part my hair in the picture above, but I usually do."

The basics of emo hair:
-A flat iron straightener (a MUST have)
-Black hair dye
-Some sort of hair product, not sure what they're called but I use Neutrogena Triple Moisture Healing Shine Serum
-Cut short in the back to prevent mullet-ness
-Conditioning your hair every night
-Combing your hair after you get out of the shower and whatnot helps

On the color of his hair:

"Yeah it's a blue black color but I don't remember what dye I used. I think it was some of that crap you mix up with the other crap and then you use the cap thingy and all that. If you cut the back short and then straighten your hair with a flat iron I'm pretty sure you could get a haircut close to mine. Oh, and make sure to let the sides grow out."

On Neutrogena Triple Moisture Healing Serum:

"Neutrogena Triple Moisture Healing Shine Serum fixes up ugly "straggling" hair like woah. It's like this oil type stuff, and you put a small dot of it you hand, rub your palms together, and then run your palm through your hair or something like that. I know there are other brands of it out there, so it shouldn't be too hard to find. I always use it after straightening my hair because my hair gets all dry looking after I straighten it, and then this stuff fixes it right up.

I recommend you just ask one of your female friends to straighten your hair, or if your mom has a straightener or whatever, just use hers. I'm pretty sure it would end up looking something close to my hair. As for the part, I'm not really sure how I get that. I just use my hand and push my hair to the side and it works. I'm sure you can figure it out.

The moisture shine stuff keeps it from poofing and fix flyaways and makes it look straighter and thinner. Also, I use the straightener every day."

Final words:

"Just grow it out, use flat iron straightener, cut it short in the back, and you can spike the back if you wish. I usually don't but sometime I get bored and will do it. You don't have to dye it black if you don't want, especially if your hair is already naturally black. Yes it could take a couple of months for your hair to grow as long as mine. It's a long process but if that's what you want then it'll be worth it."

Bangs are beautiful! if you want to look more beautiful, you can try different bangs. You can use bangs (fringe) to help frame your face, accentuate your eyes and draw attention to your best features.
fringe hairstyle
There are many different types of bangs out there to suit all face shapes and hairstyles. Fringe are a great way to update your hairstyle with minimal risk. If you have long hair and are thinking of going short but too scared to take the plunge why not try a heavy blunt bangs first that way you can change your look drastically while still keeping the hair length.

Tips for Emo Color-emo hairstyles

emo hairstyle colors
emo color hairstyle For the best emo hair color…
Try using temporary hair color first to experiment with different looks until you find the one you like best.
Know that very unnatural colors (pink, teal, or green, for example) may be prohibited by school or work dress codes. Find a way to restyle your hair to hide the color if necessary.
Use a good conditioner and proper hair products to keep hair healthy. Using hair dye and other coloring techniques can cause dry, damaged hair that will be more difficult to style and may not hold color as well

For those who are daring enough to go super short this hairstyle is for you. The fringe is cut very short and with messy layers, would not suit those with a long face or with high foreheads. This is an ideal look for those with small delicate features or those with round faces.
